Evaluating expressions using the order of operations.

  November 18,2020. Today's math lesson is evaluating expressions using the order of operation rules. Here are the rules you need to follow when solving: 1. Do parentheses first. ( ) 2. Multiplication or division which ever comes first.  3. Add or subtract which ever comes first.  Examples: 3+2-1x5=------Ask yourself, are there any parentheses? No there isn't.  3+2-1x5= Is there any multiplication or division? What appears first?                       There is no division, so we solve the  multiplication first. 3+2-1x5= 3+2-5=  Now that we solved the multiplication, we go to next rule,                    which is to either do adding or subtracting, whichever comes                     first. Journal Writing December 14,2020

 Hello Grade 7's, Today we are going to focus on our daily journal. I'll write to you first and then you can respond. Dear  students,      I hope that you are all doing well and remaining to be positive about school. It is now December 14, 2020, and oh so close to Christmas.  How many of you know the true meaning of Christmas? This was the day when Jesus was born. He was born in a stable as there were no hotel rooms for them to stay. The brightest star shone over them when Jesus was born. On December 21st, the two largest planets, Jupiter and Saturn will align to create what's referred to as the " Christmas Star" or the " Star of Bethlehem" . Keep an eye out 45 minutes after sunset where the Star of Bethlehem will shine for the first time since 1226.
